Princess Amalia Viaduct

Due to the low traffic volumes in the first years following the commercial opening of the Tweede Maasvlakte, a level crossing on the Maasvlakteweg at the Princess Amalia Harbour was chosen during the initial construction.

At this crossing, several roads converge, intersecting at grade with a railway line, a utility corridor, and a potential future Container Exchange Route. With increasing activity on the Tweede Maasvlakte, traffic flows are also expected to rise. To ensure reliable access to the container terminals, the Port of Rotterdam is replacing the level crossing with a grade-separated crossing: the Princess Amalia Viaduct.

Contracting Strategy and UAV-GC Contract

Aratis played an important role, together with the procurement department, for the Port of Rotterdam in defining the contracting strategy and drafting the UAV-GC contract. In addition, Aratis established the contract control strategy and managed contract administration during the design phase of the realisation.

Aratis' approach:

Efficient and effective strategy for monitoring and control?

Application of the SCB framework

Pleasant, constructive, and professional collaboration with the contractor and the in-house team
