Lounge 3 is one of the three original shopping areas after passport control at Schiphol Airport.

For the complete makeover of the Lounge, new retail concepts have been introduced and existing stores have been completely replaced. Architectural provisions have been built, as well as building-related installations and fire safety systems such as sprinklers, fire alarm systems, and extinguishing agents. A large number of stakeholders are involved during construction projects at Schiphol in areas that remain operational during construction. Intensive communication is required before and during the construction process to accommodate all interests as well as possible.

Reford Project Management, a subsidiary of Aratis, provided contract advice, contract reviews, and contract management for the Project Management department of Schiphol Group.

Within a very tight schedule, the renovation of Lounge 3 was managed and completed within a short timeframe and within an area that remained fully operational, according to quality requirements and with the highest customer satisfaction.
