Truck parking in the Port of Rotterdam

The occupancy rate of the current truck park in the Waalhaven is so high that nuisance caused by improperly parked trucks in the area is increasing.

This was an important reason to quickly expand the parking capacity. The Truckparking Bodaanweg project was realised on the Antonie Bodaanweg in the Waalhaven and faced several challenges. The schedule to prepare the existing site for development was very tight. There was a potential issue of cable oil contamination. In addition, there was a complex challenge to deliver the software for the control of the security, access, and payment systems on time. The project was carried out in a construction team collaboration.

Contract management and contracting of the construction team partner

Aratis contracted the construction team partner on behalf of the Port of Rotterdam and was responsible for contract management during the construction team phase, the conclusion of the construction contract, and the handover of the project to the realisation phase.
