Wenda Westerhuis

No challenge is too difficult for Wenda; she works proactively and collaboratively. As a solution-oriented woman with strong organisational skills, she plays a broad social role through her many experiences both at work and in volunteer settings.

She works from passion and conviction and is constructively critical; while she seeks interaction with all stakeholders in environmental management, she is also analytical and always socially engaged. She learns from her experiences and seeks process improvements.

As a city council member amidst the Environmental Act, the energy transition, housing challenges, and a large-scale media player, Wenda got to know all these facets at once. But also about sustainability, citizen participation, and aspects that apply within the zoning plan, such as the EIA, the National Spatial Strategy (NOVI), not to mention the many stakeholders (farmers, the RVB, residents, the municipality, the province, TENNET, neighbouring municipalities). She has strong input in residents' evenings, she keeps the perspective in view for the participants, and she guides where necessary.

At Aratis, Wenda is active in environmental management and is on her way to achieving more.
