Norther offshore windpark
The Norther offshore wind farm is the closest offshore wind farm in the Belgian offshore wind zone. Norther has generated a capacity of 370MW from 44 wind turbines.
Contracting Strategy Evaluation
In 2011, Aratis was asked to evaluate the initial contracting strategy. This led to the assignment to provide a contract manager under whose leadership market consultations – primarily for the turbine market – were carried out. The outcomes were input for the final contracting strategy, including the division of the scope of work into lots. Subsequently, our contract manager oversaw the draughting of the ITTs for all lots.
Expertise and experience
Norther was then owned by two companies with differing interests and (corporate) cultures. Our contract manager has proven to be excellent at defining and prioritising the project's interests in this complex situation, drawing on their expertise, experience, and professionalism. Our colleague could always rely on the knowledge and experience within Aratis for this.
Aratis remained involved until 2013, when it was decided to temporarily halt the project's development due to insufficient grid connection capacity in the Belgian electricity network.
