Construction management of the nearshore section of the "Windplanblauw" wind farm

In addition to the onshore part, Aratis is also responsible for construction management for the realisation of the nearshore part of Windplanblauw.

On behalf of the client Molenrak (consisting of Vattenfall and SwifterwinT), Aratis is responsible for integrated construction management for the Balance of Plant, Wind Turbines and Transport & Installation contracts. For the construction management of this 24-turbine wind farm, Aratis is supported by its partners Halsten, Windunie, Arcadis, Windbase, Topwind, IX Wind, WSP and ENSOL, as it is for the onshore part of Windplanblauw.

Windplanblauw Nearshore

Construction of the 24 foundations commenced in Q2 2022, and these cylindrical structures with a diameter of 21 metres were completed in March 2023. At that time, part of the Alaska harbour base in Amsterdam was also set up for storage and handling for the logistics operation from which all turbine parts and blades are shipped to Lelystad.

Dismantling of the Irene Vorrink wind farm

The initiators of Windplanblauw are also obliged to dismantle 74 existing wind turbines. Twenty-eight of these wind turbines are located in the waters of the IJsselmeer. This wind farm, called “Irene Vorrink”, is owned by Vattenfall. In the spring of 2022, these wind turbines will be dismantled by the contractor under the supervision of Aratis.

Civil Engineering Infrastructure

Ballast Nedam designs and builds cofferdam structures for the 24 wind turbine foundations, as well as installing the park cabling and connecting it to the substation near Swifterbant.

Integrated Construction Management

Aratis works with its partners and the executing market parties according to the IPM model, making full use of the Aratis Project Information Management System (PIMS) within the project organisation. Through this integrated approach, Aratis fulfils the clients' wish to manage the park sections as a whole. This integrated approach also means that stakeholder management and communication are organised centrally.
